Babs is at it again. Making the world a better place, one creative project at a time.
We recently had a conversation about how I use way too many plastic Zip-lock bags. I pack my own lunch for work, so I was using up to 3 bags on a daily basis. For example, one for my sandwich, one for a handful of almonds and another to hold my apple slices (pre-cut of course for dipping in peanut/almond butter). This seemed absurd. Not only was I constantly having to buy them, it seemed like such a waste.
Enter Babs. Craft lady extraordinaire!
I had seen re-usable (snack) bags at Whole Foods and was totally intrigued so I sent my mom a few pictures hoping that it could be a project down the line. Not even a day later she informed me of her trip to Michael’s for supplies and last weekend she hand delivered five re-usable bags during her trip to visit me in RI!
I know what you’re thinking… how does she do it all? The truth is…I have no idea. What I do know, she is hands down the absolute best! Thank you Mom for yet another wonderful “Babs-made” gift!
*Notice the different sizes and shapes and of course the amazingness of “the sandwich tote!”
Stop using/buying unnecessary amounts of plastic bags when you can make your own like Babs did and have them forever or find them in a store nearby! (See below) Oh, and they are washable too, which is obviously an added bonus.
Places you can find them:
Snack Taxi (You can design your own!)
Pattern to make your own:
Maybe, just maybe, I can even get Babs to post her pattern…

I love it!!!!
Ah shucks…well…I may be clever at figuring out how to follow an on-line tutorial but my skills are rough. But they work! Yay! And it was the local 5&10 that had the vinyl. Michael’s and Joann’s did not have anything even close. And where is good old oilcloth these days? Gone? I will seek it out in the city and improve on these. I fear the vinyl may not last as long.
Happy to be of service, my sweetie!
